The company initiated the transition from Persis to Workday in 2020, with the HR Management team dividing the Workday modules into different workstreams. While each team member focused on their assigned areas, we worked collaboratively on all modules since the system was going to be implemented globally, affecting all employees worldwide.
The global HR management team, spanning across the US, Germany, UK, Poland, and APAC, closely collaborated with IT, business systems, payroll services companies, and benefits brokers to ensure a smooth transition across all aspects of the system. This included modules such as HCM, absences, benefits, performance management, learning and development, vaccination records during COVID, payroll, recruitment, and time tracking.
Following the successful rollout of the Workday modules, I worked with IT to establish and learn how to manage the global Workday Ticketing Support System. This involved addressing and resolving queries and issues related to the system and its modules for employees and managers at all levels.
One of the projects I have been involved in is the implementation of Persis (HRIS). The goal was to transition from using excel spreadsheets to an integrated HR information system. However, as the original system was in German, we had to ensure that it was translated to English for global use.
In order to successfully implement Persis, I collaborated with the IT, Business Systems and Payroll teams. Together, we were able to seamlessly integrate employees in the Americas into the new HRIS platform. The project involved careful planning and execution, and I am proud to have been a part of the team that made this transition a success.
I oversaw the rollout of the eVerify program and ensured that all new HR team members were trained on how to use it effectively. Additionally, I provided ongoing training to ensure that all team members remained compliant with the eVerify program.
I was responsible for the successful implementation of the Universal background check program across the company. As part of this effort, I oversaw the rollout of the program and provided training to the HR staff to ensure a smooth transition.
I collaborated with legal counsel to create and maintain up-to-date employment documents for new hires and separating employees across various countries including the US, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and Brazil. These documents encompassed a wide range of agreements, such as offer letters, employment contracts, consulting agreements, employment covenants agreements, confidentiality agreements, separation and release agreements, and more. The goal was to ensure that the company was compliant with local regulations and that the employment terms were clear and transparent for both parties.
Documenting processes is important because it helps to ensure consistency, clarity, and efficiency in how work is carried out. By having documented processes, a company can ensure that all staff members understand the policies and procedures that must be followed to achieve the desired outcome. This can lead to improved collaboration, continuity, and ultimately, success for the company and its employees. A list of documented processes, such as the one provided, can be used as a reference point to review and update each year, as well as to train staff on the correct procedures to follow. The list of processes provided below includes everything from contracting and recruitment to employee leaves, and each process plays an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the company.
It was the responsibility of the global HR management team to ensure these processes were current and documented in our Quality Management System (QMS) along with the respective documents to support the processes.
• Contracting of Workforce• Recruitment Referral Program• Employment of New Staff• Benefits Control Process• Performance Appraisal Process• Employee Training• Global Anniversary Award Program Process• Global Idea Bank Process• Goal Pay Process• PTO & Vacation Process• Organizational Change Process• Salary Increase Process• SPOT Award process• Internal Trainer Award Program Process• International Assignment Process• Setting up Employees without HR Presence• Employee Leaves Company
In 2023, I was commissioned by the Institute of Harmonic Massage to develop an online program for their massage therapy course. As part of this undertaking, I devised the requisite documentation and system to enable students to effectively undertake the online component of the course, as well as devising the weekly tests.
In addition, I was tasked with translating files from English to Spanish, with the aim of providing Spanish-speaking students with the ability to successfully complete the course.
I ensured that course summaries, student handbooks, and weekly schedules were up-to-date and readily accessible to both students and teachers.
This remains an ongoing initiative, where I continue to provide support and ensure that student profiles, user IDs, and access are created and made available as necessary.

In 2021, I spearheaded an initiative to develop a business case for recruiting an in-house legal counsel. The organization was grappling with a surge in immigration cases, which had resulted in an excessive allocation of resources and funds towards compiling, processing, and filing applications for expat and relocated employees migrating to the Americas from other regions.
Taking it upon myself, I conducted a comprehensive assessment of statistics, costs, and analytics of the immigration cases spanning the previous decade. I leveraged this data to construct a compelling business case that was subjected to review and approval by the senior leadership team.
Following the green light to bring the immigration cases in-house, I oversaw the hiring process of internal immigration counsel for the company. This development bolstered the organization's program, making it one of the strongest in supporting the diverse culture of the company.
As of now, the internal immigration counsel continues to excel, fostering a more robust program in collaboration with the managers and HR team of the organization.

As part of our efforts to enhance accessibility and support for internal customers within our global company, my HR department team and I implemented a new solution with multiple benefits.
As professionals working in a global company's HR department, we recognized the importance of being accessible to our customers around the clock, while also supporting each other as a team.
To this end, we collaborated and launched an HR Chat Room that customers worldwide could access 24/7 through a Teams link. This chat room served as a valuable platform for addressing questions and resolving issues for our customers, as well as for supporting one another and staying connected even while away from our desks or computers.
Beyond its functional benefits, the HR Chat Room fostered a sense of accountability and support among team members, both personally and professionally. By allowing us to chat and connect with each other in a supportive environment, it helped strengthen our team dynamic and create a stronger sense of community within our department.
In 2023, I assisted the owner of Dallas Spa House in setting up her spa, focusing on all the necessary preparations for obtaining a business license. This involved managing the documentation required for the audit process, including handbooks, employee files, and business records. Additionally, I created the spa's website to establish a strong online presence.
My role extended to ensuring that all licensing and operational requirements were thoroughly addressed, enabling a smooth and successful launch. I continue to provide ongoing support as needed, contributing to the spa's commitment to offering exceptional wellness and relaxation services to its clients.

Back in 2010, I collaborated with our CEO and the IT team to establish a worldwide intranet solution, which led to the rollout of SharePoint. I believed that having a centralized platform to update, manage, share, and track documents would enhance efficiency and data security.
To ensure that SharePoint remained current and relevant, I worked alongside the IT team to set up departmental pages and meta data for the platform. This ensured that each department had access to the necessary tools and resources to maintain SharePoint.
The intranet rollout was successful, and we created team sites and departmental pages, which were instrumental in improving collaboration and communication among our global team.
I was responsible for the setup, deployment, training, and maintenance of the HR SharePoint site. This involved managing various sections of the site, such as the Employee Portal, Manager Portal, ADVA University, New Hire Orientation, Global Programs, Global Holidays, HR Programs & Projects, CSR, FUNtivities, and photo albums. To ensure that employees and managers were well-equipped to use the site, I conducted training sessions for them. Additionally, I was involved in the continuous maintenance of the site to ensure that it remained up-to-date and relevant to the organization's needs.
Managing employee benefits was a tedious and challenging task. To address this issue, I collaborated with our benefits brokers (the McGriff team) to simplify the administration process and enhance the user experience.
As part of this effort, we automated processes such as enrollments, changes, terminations, reporting, COBRA administration, and billing to save time and improve accuracy. These changes streamlined the benefits administration process, making it easier and more efficient for both employees and administrators.
I collaborated with external legal counsel to establish and implement the Affirmative Action Program across the US. This involved preparing and gathering the necessary documentation for program setup, as well as providing training to managers and employees to ensure compliance throughout the recruitment and posting processes. Additionally, I reviewed the program on an annual basis and ensured that reporting and analytics were completed and stored for future reference.
In 2017, I collaborated with the CFO of the organization to establish and implement a nationwide outplacement initiative for the Americas. As a part of this effort, I formulated a compelling business proposition to partner with Intoo (previously CareerArc) in order to furnish a program aimed at providing support to our employees who were transitioning out of the company, while also delivering cost savings to the organization. Through this program, we were able to save over $40k during a single restructuring phase, while receiving excellent feedback from affected personnel. I am pleased to report that this program remains ongoing, and the partnership between Intoo and the company has been a mutually positive experience. It was a privilege to have collaborated with my associates at Intoo and our CFO in implementing this crucial program.
I had the privilege of working on the creation and launch of CPR Today, a company that provides training on CPR, First Aid, and AED usage, as well as certification for individuals who want to become trainers. The home page of the website was one of my primary responsibilities over two decades ago, and I have now been engaged to rebuild and modernize it. The motto "Safety Starts With Your Education" highlights the importance of training as a foundation for safety preparedness in emergency situations, because emergencies are not planed.
CPR Today has been a trusted resource for 23 years, providing life-saving skills to a wide range of clients, including healthcare providers, daycares, churches, and corporations.
CPR Today's courses are flexible and can be tailored to fit individual schedules, making it easy for anyone to learn life-saving skills that can improve the chances of survival in cardiac arrest emergencies.
I had the privilege of being involved in the establishment of Texas Massage in Spa, located in Forney, TX, which opened its doors in 2015. As a member of the team, I worked closely with the Founder to develop the spa's concept and layout, design the branding, and create the marketing strategies.
Our goal was to provide a serene and relaxing environment for clients to unwind and rejuvenate. We also wanted to offer a range of massage services, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and prenatal massages, as well as facials and other spa treatments. It was a rewarding experience to be part of the creation of a business that has since become a popular destination for wellness and relaxation in Forney, TX.
As part of my responsibilities, I developed and implemented the Buddy Program, which aimed to create a smooth and welcoming experience for new hires during their first few months with the company.
The Buddy Program was designed to help new employees become familiar with the office environment, procedures, practices, and policies of the company. This involved assigning a buddy to each new hire who was committed to the company's mission and core values, had relevant experience within the organization, and had volunteered to participate in the program.
The buddy played a crucial role in providing support and guidance to the new hire, instilling the company's culture and values, and assisting them during the onboarding process. The goal was to ensure that new hires received excellent assistance and felt supported throughout their initial period with the company.
The global HR management team was responsible for maintaining the Management Training Program, ensuring global adherence to the process and compliance by managers. The program was rolled out and underwent annual review to ensure that the topics covered were current. As needed, additional courses were added or removed. I ensured annual review and budget management for the program.
The Eye on ADVA program was a highly successful initiative that I created to foster employee engagement and a sense of community within our global company. Through this program, we reached out to employees all around the world and asked them to answer a set of questions that gave insight into their backgrounds, interests, and personalities. We compiled this information in a format that we then shared with the entire company, allowing employees to get to know each other on a personal level. Additionally, employees were encouraged to submit pictures of themselves engaging in their hobbies and spending time with family and friends, which further strengthened our sense of community. Overall, the Eye on ADVA program was a great success and played an important role in enhancing our corporate culture.
In 2023 and 2024, I collaborated with Sophos Academia Learning Center to support their application and certification process for opening the learning center. My responsibilities included creating their website, which highlights their comprehensive CPR instructor and massage therapy courses designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge for success in the healthcare industry.
I worked closely with the owner to ensure the center met all licensing requirements and was fully operational. This involved developing the requisite documentation, systems, and course materials to facilitate effective learning experiences. Additionally, I provided ongoing support to maintain updated course summaries, student handbooks, and accessible weekly schedules for both students and trainers.
This project is an ongoing initiative where I continue to assist in ensuring a smooth setup and functioning of the learning center, contributing to the mission of fostering a community of passionate healthcare professionals.
